I read a post on tumblr saying that Damon only cares about Elena and not her friends and family. Let me just say that’s bullshit.

He cared. He cares.

only you forgot to mention that the first gif with jeremy? damon was threatening him. and that third gif with caroline? that was when he had compelled her and was basically using her (don’t even get me started on that). as far as i’m concerned, that makes this whole post invalid. damon does care about some people (the list is small, according to him), but this gif set does not show it. give me some gifs from season three, or even late season two, that show damon caring for elena’s friends and i’ll believe it.

damon cares about himself, his brother, elena, and he did care about alaric. past those people? i’m not convinced. he has made it clear over and over that he has no problem killing people that elena cares about (jeremy, bonnie, caroline, bonnie’s mom, the general human population), whether she likes it or not.
